Eye Revolution were commissioned to shoot 360 virtual tours of the London International Fine Art Fair at London Olympia this year. The internationally renowned fair brings together serious collectors of fine and decorative arts with exhibitors from all over the world.
The 360 virtual tours are intended to give potential visitors and exhibitors a flavour of what they can expect from the surroundings and stands when attending this annual event.
The Tea Building was built in the 1930s, and originally housed a bacon factory, but in the late 30’s it became a tea factory. It is in a prime position on the corner of Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green Road and is home to Pizza East – a Soho House group restaurant with a ‘progressive take on gourmet pizza’. The restaurant has retained the stunning industrial features of the original building and enhanced them to create an unusual and exciting environment for diners.
Eye Revolution were delighted to be invited to create virtual tours for Westminster Cathedral – one of the UKs most famous cathedrals, and an architectural masterpiece.
The Catholic church was only restored in the mid 19th century in England and Wales, and the Cardinals were keen to create a home for Catholicism in London. Work got under way in 1895 and the Cathedral was completed in 1903, though the design is firmly rooted in cathedrals from centuries before. The Cathedral features the highest (34 metres) and widest (18 metres) nave in the country.
Hornsey Town Hall is in the centre of Crouch End, North London. The architect Reginald Uren won a competition beating 217 other entrants for the chance to design this important public building. His scheme was for an ultra modern building, with clean lines breaking with the Victorian classicism which characterised many town halls around the country. He avoided excessive ornament, using sculptures (visible on the front of Barclays Bank, once the Gas showroom, and the old electricity showroom now Spiazzo’s deli) marble and metalwork to soften the geometry of the buildings. The building was opened in 1935 and won an RIBA bronze award,
Since 1966, when most of the council functions were moved to Wood Green Town Hall, Hornsey Town Hall has fallen into disrepair and the council chamber sealed off due to concerns about asbestos. Most Crouch End residents have never had the chance to see inside this amazing building. Now Eye Revolution have created a set of virtual tours which allows visitors to look around the Town Hall. They can view around the council chamber and see the view previous mayors would have seen (albeit in a state of decay), they can also tour the theatre including backstage, dressing room and the green room, the old planning application map room, ticket office, foyer and even a couple of loos!
The shoot was fascinating – Eye Revolution founder Will Pearson says “Being able to explore the Town Hall in its current state of decay was visually fascinating. It seemed a bit like the Marie Celeste – abandoned whilst still in use, with old building planning applications just lying around gathering dust – including the one for Hornsey Lane Bridge (known locally as ‘Suicide Bridge). I found an old (full) beer bottle which looked like it dated from when the Town Hall was still in use. It can be seen on the sill in the dressing room.”
Eye Revolution founder Will Pearson has been inside the Tardis to create a virtual tour of the famed police box time machine. The BBC commissioned him to photograph an interactive tour which would allow them to feature lots of exciting content for users to explore, including video tours of the Tardis, history and facts, free wallpaper downloads, concept art and a special messages from one of the characters.
Will has been a Doctor Who fan since he was a boy and so having the opportunity to shoot the Tardis caused great excitement in the Eye Revolution studio! Click the link to be taken to the BBC Doctor Who website to view the Tardis virtual tour.
Eye Revolution were commissioned by a large property development company to create virtual tours of this high end luxury apartment property in Kensington, London. The property is finished to an extremely high luxury standard and the virtual tours allow potential buyers to get a full 360 picture of the property before arranging a viewing. After they view the property, the virtual tours are a great resource to remind them about the interior layout, style and detailing while they think about putting in an offer.
Eye Revolution founder Will Pearson has been selected as the London guest photographer for the Arounder Touch iPhone app.
“I am delighted to have been chosen to be the photographer for London – it’s a real honour. The app is well designed and easy to use, giving an insight into locations all around the globe.”
The Arounder Touch app allows iPhone users to browse through hi-res 360 virtual tours and see information on the locations. You can view a short HD video about the app if you click the image above.
You can download the app directly on your iPhone via the app store – we reckon you’ll enjoy browsing the locations which range from London, Paris and New York right through to Easter Island, Tahiti and the Moon!

We’ve been on some of the world’s most exclusive golf courses in the last few weeks. Sadly though, we’re not suntanned and haven’t brought back any souvenirs… because we’ve not left London. Urban Golf have three venues in London where golfers can play tournaments, practice their swing or even learn to play with their state of the art golf simulators. The Urban Golf venues in Smithfield (City of London), Soho and Kensington are all trendy and relaxed, with no plus-fours in sight. The Independent referred to Urban Golf as ‘the world’s first fashionable golf venue’.

Poplar Day Centre – a day centre for the elderly offers elderly residents of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets a friendly environment for socialising, learning and stimulation. The centre offers a wide range of activities, including crafts, art, music and movement, darts, quizzes, crosswords, discussion groups, reflexology and a beauty group where visitors can have their hair set or nails done. It ensures that the elderly have somewhere to go where they can feel welcome, relaxed and among friends.
Eye Revolution were commissioned to create a set of virtual tours of the centre, so potential visitors can explore the centre before visiting, enabling them to feel that the settings are familiar even before they arrive. The centre created a soundtrack of people talking about the centre and what it has offered them, which plays while you view the 360 tours. The interactive interface allows viewers to understand the layout of the centre, and they can always tell where they are by referring back to the highlighted area of the floorplan. Viewers have the option of clicking a button to take the tours to fullscreen size, and can zoom in to see the detail.

As some of our regular readers will know, we’re based in North London’s Crouch End and have been for the past 10 years or so. Our first neighbours in Crouch End were the lovely folk at Audio Gold – North London’s favourite audio destination – and they made us very welcome.
Audio Gold are now based in an old bank building at the Muswell Hill end of Park Road, and their large shop is a treasure trove for anyone who enjoys good music and wants to get a great audio set-up, or refine their existing set-up. They specialise in high quality second hand audio equipment, though they also have a second-hand vinyl area, do repairs on-site and have a prop hire department for everything from gramophones and amps to vintage computers.
Eye Revolution created a virtual tour for Audio Gold back when we were neighbours in their old premises in 2004. We are delighted to have been asked back to create a new 360 virtual tour of their new building. There are 5 separate virtual tours showing the different areas of the shop, from where customers can chill out with a coffee to listen to the gear, to the displays of the varied kit on sale. We’re pleased to present a new set of virtual tours which Eye Revolution have created for Audley’s new Clevedon Retirement Village. The village is a stunning development based around an old Victorian School, which was dismantled and then painstakingly rebuilt, brick-by-brick. Eye Revolution have created 360 imagery of key areas around the village, along with the Audley Club – a health and fitness club.
