Happy New Year 2012

Welcome back to 2012, and what promises to be an exciting year. For the third time in history, the UK will host the Olympic Games (the previous games being 1908 and 1948 – after the 1944 games were cancelled due to WW2). London will make history as the only city in the world to have hosted three Olympic Games. The Diamond Jubilee celebrations will see beacons lit all over the UK, special exhibitions, and a thousand boats forming a flotilla for a dramatic river procession on the Thames.

In 2011 we have been to shoot some incredible locations, and one of the most memorable was Talacre Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in North Wales dating from 1777. It’s fascinating to explore the modest living space and imagine the life of the past lighthouse keepers, keeping watch for unwary ships entering the Dee Estuary. The lighthouse is currently on the market for £100,000. Whilst it hardly boasts all mod cons, TV and electric are connected so you could spend many a cosy and night watching the storms coming in. Rather tempting we thought!
